Myth 1: The softer the upper, the better

Due to the developmental stage of children's bones, joints, and ligaments, their ability to balance and stabilize is not strong. If the shoe upper is too soft and cannot provide sufficient support during walking, it can lead to instability of the heel, which can easily cause damage to the ankle joint and ligaments, and may also develop poor walking posture. Therefore, the back of children's shoes should be firm and wrap around the feet. In addition, the front of children's shoes should be soft and comfortable.

Myth 2: The softer the sole, the better

The soles of children's shoes should be moderately soft and hard, and excessively soft soles cannot support the soles of the feet well, which can easily cause fatigue when worn for a long time. In addition, children who have worn shoes with soft soles are also prone to sprains and even falls.

Myth 3: The thicker the sole, the more comfortable and shockproof it is

When walking, the sole of the shoe constantly bends. The thicker the sole, the more effort it may take to bend, especially for children who love sports. The thicker the sole, the easier it is to cause foot fatigue, which in turn affects the health of the knee and waist.

Myth 4: Buying shoes for children should be as large as possible

Many parents often choose shoes that are one size larger for their children in order to extend the wearing time of their shoes. But it is difficult for the child's feet to be fixed in larger shoes, which makes their walking uncoordinated and even leads to foot deformities.

How to choose a pair of comfortable and suitable children's shoes for children?

When buying shoes, you should bring your child with you and let them try them on. After the child puts on the shoes, maintain a standing position, and there should be a finger wide distance (approximately 1-1.3cm) between the toe of the foot and the toe of the shoe. The width of the shoe should also be 5mm to the left and right. It is recommended to simulate the actual wearing situation and try on socks.

02. When parents purchase alone, they should use the correct method to first measure the child's foot length and foot width. You can have a child stand on a piece of white paper and mark the positions of the front toes, rear heels, first and fifth metatarsophalangeal joints when the left and right feet are in balance. Then, measure the length and width of the markings on the paper. When measuring, both feet should be measured, as each person's left and right feet may be asymmetrical. When choosing shoes, the size of the larger foot should be considered.

03. Choose shoes that are suitable for both softness and hardness. When selecting, consideration should be given to the softness and hardness of the sole, back collar, and toe area, and shoes with suitable softness and hardness should be selected. If the child is more active and the toe area is more worn, it is possible to consider choosing a style with a specially reinforced toe.

04. It is recommended to re measure the size of children's feet every quarter and proactively check whether their shoes fit properly, and promptly replace any shoes that do not fit.
